I just really love painting faces big. There are so many out there, full of scars of experience and the creases of stress and smiles. To make a connection to someone, to look straight into their unblinking eyes and study what makes their face unique, is a privilege and an unceasing lesson.
The closer I explore our idiosyncrasies and blemishes, the more I see we have in common and the less those so-called flaws matter. If only we could stop being so critical of ourselves and see that what makes us different from each other is what makes us interesting and intriguing individuals, and a beautiful family. That is some touchy-feely stuff right there.
