Brisbane based artist, Benedict Clark was born in rural Victoria and grew up in South-East Queensland. He has spent the better part of the last 12 years painting, both indoors at his home studio and outdoors on a larger scale.
Working predominately with aerosols and pen on paper, Clark’s illustrative and text based style is heavily influenced by his background in graphic design. Describing his aesthetic as abstract deconstructionism with a loose of level of dimension, his work is primarily intuitive; a juxtaposition of the organic world around him.
Benedict Clark is one of two winners from the First Coat 2015 ‘Sugar Jam’. He has exhibited in group shows and painted murals nationally, however his involvement in First Coat will be the first major event he has been involved in.
